Local life & recommendations
Neighborhoods, useful people, and the everyday things that make Nice start to feel like home.
This part of what I do doesn't really live on one page — it's spread across the two places on the site where it actually belongs, so I'm not repeating myself here. Think of this as the signpost rather than the destination.
For choosing where to live
The Neighborhoods page is where I break down Nice, Antibes, Cannes, Villefranche and Menton by what each one actually suits — a city with an airport, a harbour with a school run, quiet and lemons. It's the right starting point if you're still deciding where on the coast you want to land.
For the people and places I trust
The local businesses guide is where I go into how I actually vet a plumber, an electrician, a tailor — the culture around quotes, tipping, opening hours, and why word-of-mouth still wins here over any review site. It's less a directory than a way of thinking about finding people you trust, which matters more here than almost anywhere else I've lived.
And if what you actually need is a specific recommendation — a dentist, a hairdresser, someone who fixes bikes — that's exactly the kind of question I'd rather answer directly than try to guess in advance.
